Education Council Election

Call for Student Nominations

Four student seats are available on Education Council.  The term of office is October 2017 to September 2018.  

Student members receive $100 for every meeting attended. The first meeting following this election will be held on October 20, 2017.

Available Positions:

  • 2 students attending the Terrace Campus
  • 1 student attending the Prince Rupert Campus
  • 1 student attending any campus

September 19, 2017 Close of Nominations
September 20-27, 2017 Campaign
October 2, 2017 Election

Nominations close at 4:00 pm.  The election will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Eligibility to Participate:

Only those enrolled as a student (in good standing) currently attending the College are eligible to participate.  If you are uncertain of your enrolment status, please check with your Registration Office.  Candidates must be nominated by five other recognized members of the student body enrolled as students attending NWCC.  Each nominee must declare that s/he has every reason to believe that s/he will be able to fulfill the term of office.  

Nomination forms are also available through the Student Union office or from the following staff in the Administration and Registration offices at the campus:

Completed Nomination forms should be submitted by 4:00 pm on September 19, 2017. Qualified nominees will be notified by the Registrar following the close of nominations and prior to the Campaign period.  If at the close of the nomination period there is only one candidate per seat available, the nominated candidate will be declared elected.
