Northwest Community College (NWCC) invites applications to create a pool of qualified candidates for auxiliary Assistant Camp Cook positions for the School of Exploration & Mining (SEM). The on-call period will commence April 1, 2017 and end March 31, 2018 (as required). Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff Scale, level 5 or Camp day rates.
Duties include: Assistant Camp Cooks will assist the Camp Cook in providing meals for students and staff during NWCC SEM camp-based training programs on a seasonal, on-call basis. Assist in planning, preparing and serving meals. In addition the Camp Cook Assistant will participate in and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for students and staff.
Food Safe Level 1 certification and a valid Class 5 driver’s license along with 1 year directly related experience. Red Seal accredited Professional Cook certification is preferred. Assets include a valid Class 4 driver’s license; WHMIS, TDG and WorkSafeBC® first aid certificates. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
