AUXILIARY ON-CALL WorksafeBC® OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID and TRANSPORTATION ENDORSEMENT INSTRUCTORS - WORKFORCE TRAINING & CONTINUING STUDIES(Regional)

Job Description and Duties 

(Subject to minimum enrollment)

Northwest Community College (NWCC), all campuses, invites applications for auxiliary Instructors for WorksafeBC® Occupational First Aid (OFA) courses on an on-call basis (weekdays, evenings and weekends). The on-call period will commence September 1, 2017 and end August 31, 2018. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale.

Duties:  Teaching, course preparation, evaluation of student work, along with other functions related to instructing WorksafeBC® OFA Level 1, 2, 3 and Transportation Endorsement courses. Please indicate your preferred course(s) and campus in your cover letter.

Qualifications 

Grade 12 or equivalent along with current Occupational First Aid Level 3 Certificate, successful completion of an Occupational First Aid Level 1 and Transportation Endorsement Instructor course (Provincial Instructors Diploma considered an asset), along with previous instructional experience. NWCC may offer additional OFA instructor training if required.

Required skills, abilities and knowledge includes:

  • Extensive knowledge of first aid
  • Strong technical knowledge and relevant industry experience
  • Excellent group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to foster a motivational learning environment for a diverse student base
  • Customer/Client service oriented
  • Adaptable with the ability to work effectively within a variety of diverse situations
